Who am I? I have been working with technology for nearly 20 years, and have held numerous senior positions in R&D organizations over the past decade. I love technology, breaking things, and challenges.
Personal Life I am a southerner who moved west like a million others like me and settled in San Francisco. I live with my wonderful partner of nine years and a wonderfully fluffy orange cat that we love.

Coding for myself.

The Great Reengineering of 2022 I tend to view programming and computers as a professional mechanic views cars; I do as little as possible with them after I am off the clock. Unless it’s something fun. There exists a point of inflection between tedious and satisfying that any professional experiences when doing something that, while technically “work,” is genuinely enjoyable and fun.
I have been neglecting a lot of my key domain infrastructure for the past few years, and I want to use tools like Terraform, GitHub, and AWS to build a reference design that I am proud of for both the management of resources/configuration and the deployment of web application code.

Giving this a try...

Why am I doing this? This is my attempt to add to, and revive, the “World Wide Web” that I miss the most. Stumbling on an actual person’s own website where you could really dig into what makes them tick. That is an almost forgotten art, writing for your own satisfaction.
Is this a blog? My goal with this redesign and reimagining of this website is to move toward a more introspective point of view, but also I won’t be holding myself to any sort of schedule for new posts.
